10/15/18 Weekly Reflection

Oct 17, 2018

We greet you in the name of our Lord Christ Jesus.

May the light of the Holy Spirit of our Lord, the Lord of love, mercy, and compassion shine upon all of us and may He grant us the knowledge, patience and wisdom to understand the richness of His teachings and missions which are intended to nurture our hearts and our lives.

"Come to me, all of you who are weary and burned, and I will give you rest" Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light." (Matthew 11:28-30)

Jesus knows that life is just like an ocean with many ups and many downs, full of many different kinds of anxiety, distress and worry, which oppress us, drain our strength and depress our will to get up and step forward. They tend to make us very weary. That is why our compassionate Lord Jesus Christ opens his caring arms and invites us to come home to Him: "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burned, and I will give you rest." He invites us to join with Him, bearing the yoke that is easy and light and he will take care of you and his tender love will lift us up. But yet, instead of accepting His offer, many of us try to find earthly solutions to our problems in our own way, then sometimes run into an dead end road and give up, or find other way to forget the real life problem that we are facing, by using alcohol or drugs.

I would say: STOP doing that, regardless of how demanding and frantic our lives might be, just come to Him, focus on Him and on his love and accept Christ as our Lord and ask Him to be Master of the situation, we will enjoy new energy, new freedom and new calm and bright way to life. All anxieties, worries and bitterness dissipate in His glorious love. Just remember that the sun is still shining, even when storm clouds hide it, And remember also that behind any difficulty of life you are facing, the eternal love of God is still shining brightly. So Take shelter under God's wings and be assured that you have a safe refuge where true peace, rest and safety can be found. Your strong faith will carry you through the darkest moment of your life. God will not only redeem us, but that he will grant us His heavenly peace.

Amen!
