Advocacy & Outreach

CARITAS
An ecumenical effort providing shelter to the homeless. Epiphany hosts CARITAS during the winter and summer. Volunteer needs include night supervisors, food/snack preparation, set-up, clean-up and fellowship. Check the bulletin for sign-ups. Contact: Tracy Brookmire, 794-0222.

Freedom House
Epiphany provides financial support, prepared food and drivers to transport the food to the feeding site. Needs are for cooks and drivers. Commitment to cook food from prescribed menu or deliver food. Contact: Dave and Jeanine LaRue 338-7724.
Recipes Schedule

Legislative Advocacy
Part of Diocesan and interfaith efforts to provide information on social justice issues. Volunteer needs include telephone and letter-writing campaigns, as well as participation in Diocesan Advocacy Day with visits to local legislators. Contact: Hank Farrell 276-6724.

Respect Life
A life-giving, counter-cultural ministry, dedicated to fostering reverence for human life and preservation of dignity at every stage of life. Volunteer needs: monthly planning meetings, special event and education activities. Contact: Carol Wolfe 272-3429 .

Outreach Sunday
A parish ministry that collects food and special needs requests in the Commons on the First Sunday of the month and during Advent and Lent. Donations are distributed to area organizations. Volunteers needed to sort and deliver donations once a month. Contact: Chantal Emerson.

Prison Ministry
Provides an opportunity for parishioners to work with the Diocese and different community agencies to assist offenders, their families, and/or children. Contact: Mary Munton.

Refugee Resettlement
Part of a Diocesan effort to resettle refugee families - helping to "welcome the stranger." Volunteers form mentoring groups who assist in setting up living arrangements, teach English and help refugees integrate into American society. Contact: Needs a coordinator.
