Financial Grants and Service Opportunities

Bainbridge Community Ministry
An ecumenical ministry founded to assist the working poor in the Bainbridge area. Emergency food, fuel and other resources are provided. Contact: Phil Powell.

Bless the Children
Provides material relief, financial aid and medical assistance to handicapped, orphaned and impoverished children in third-world countries. Call to find out about current needs. Gateway Homes
A residential facility in Chesterfield County offering supportive services for adults suffering from chronic mental illness. Immediate need is for drivers to bring residents to 11:15 Mass on Sundays at Epiphany. Other volunteer opportunities available also. Contact: Laurie Weeda 378-4928.

Habitat for Humanity
Epiphany is now part of Bon Air Friends, an ecumenical group of religious congregations, organized to build homes for low-income families. Volunteer opportunities include construction, mentoring families, and various office functions. Contact: Russ Melroy 794-7685.

HELP
A program designed to give emergency assistance, follow-up with long term planning and accessing other resources, to enable a family to reach financial stability. It is a cooperative association between Richmond area parishes and Commonwealth Catholic Charities. Contact: Molly Smith, 794-0222.

Manchester YMCA Programs
This outreach targets at-risk children. You can be a Lunch Buddy, an After School Tutor, or take children shopping for school supplies and clothes at the beginning of the school year. Please call the "Y", 276-9622.

Sacred Heart Center
A Community Center serving the needs of the poor in the Bainbridge area. Provides recreational and education facilities, daycare and job training programs. Volunteer needs include tutoring, mentoring youth and assisting with special events. Contact: Kaye Melroy,794-7685

St. Francis Home
A non-profit adult home in the Bainbridge area committed to the care and service of low-income elderly and disabled who can no longer live independently. Volunteer needs include providing friendship and activities such as monthly birthday parties and Bingo. Contact: Maureen Werley, 675-7179
