Pastoral Care

Communion Ministry to the Sick
A ministry of visitation to the sick in hospitals, nursing homes and homebound, sharing Eucharist with them. Contact: Cheryl Clark, 794-0222 ext. 20.

Ministry of Health and Wholeness (Formerly Parish Nurse Ministry)
Provides health and wellness education, counseling and referral by nurses and other health care professionals. This ministry affirms the church as a place for the prevention of illness and "disease," as it teaches and supports us in living with "ease" physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially. Monthly meetings are held and volunteer tasks vary. Contact: Kathy Jarrell.

Life Transitions
A ministry of outreach and service to the parishioners of Epiphany and their families through education and guidance on available governmental, non-profit, for-profit, and Epiphany resources for those experiencing major life changes. Includes Bereavement, Funerals, Jobs, Resources. Contact: Greg Doepke.

Post Abortion Healing Ministry
A ministry of healing the unresolved grief and guilt experienced by persons who have made the choice for abortion. Rachel's Vineyard weekend retreats are held to offer compassion without condemning the person nor condoning abortion. Ministry members grow through education about the aftermath of the tragedy of abortion and the power of healing through forgiveness. Needs are for ministry members and prayer partners. Upcoming Retreat Announcement:

The September 2011 Rachel's Vineyard Retreat has been postponed until further notice. As soon as a new date is scheduled, an announcement will be posted here.

Praying Hands
Prayer shawls are knitted or crocheted with prayers and blessings for those needing comfort at a difficult time in their lives. Group meets regularly, members also work at home and donations of yarn are welcomed. Contact: Liz Bishop 745-9423.

The Greenhouse Ministry
Parishioners who love plants and people provide flowers and living plants to nursing homes residents to arrange and care for. Ministry members visit Ginter Hall residents for plants, prayer and fellowship on the first Wednesday morning of every month. The ministry also meets at the church at 7pm on the third Tuesday of odd months. Donations of plants, flowers, pots and materials are welcome. Contact: Barbara Carr 379-2340.
