Stewardship at Epiphany

Since our founding in 1979, Epiphany has operated our finances and ministries on the principle of “Stewardship.” Each household in the Epiphany Community is asked to commit to the following 2 principles:

  • Commit personal time and talent in the service of one (or more) of the parish’s ministries, and
  • Make a monetary pledge in keeping with the family’s financial situation to support the work of the church.

Financial Stewardship

Epiphany operates with a current annual budget of approximately $1.2 million. Your stewardship dollars pay for the Mass supplies, music, outreach programs, fellowship opportunities and educational programs that make Epiphany the unique parish that it is. Each winter, the staff and pastoral council begin planning the budget for the following fiscal year, and invite the Epiphany community to support that budget through your annual stewardship pledge. Your pledge is made for only one year at a time, and may be increased or decreased by you as circumstances dictate over the course of the year.

In return for this common sense approach, money issues are discussed only at the time of the Annual Stewardship Weekend, and on the occasion of periodic capital improvement campaigns. There is only one collection at mass, and additional giving opportunities such as special collections and mission appeals are offered at a special display in the commons after masses; other forms of fundraising such as bingo, raffles, bake sales, etc., are discouraged. A certain amount of parish revenue is budgeted and given away off the top to help parishioners in financial reversals, and to support outreach programs in our area. Through the generosity of the Epiphany people, we are currently debt free, and through our outreach efforts, give 10% of our income to those in need.

Parishioners are asked to prayerfully discern what you are reasonably able to give as an annual stewardship gift, and then make a pledge to give that money throughout the year, either weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually. Please indicate your pledge for the remainder of the fiscal year on your Registration and Financial Stewardship Form.

Getting Involved- Sharing Your Time and Talent

Along with a financial commitment to the church, each member of Epiphany is encouraged to take ownership of the parish by committing their gifts of time and talent to one of the churches ministries.

Epiphany was originally founded on the four “Planks” of Liturgy, Formation, Outreach and Fellowship. Through the years, this foundation has anchored us in the practice of our Catholic tradition and serves as the basis for all of our programs and ministries. These ministries and programs allow us to grow in faith, knowledge, love, and service to each other and the greater community.

Please take a few moments to look at the Ministry Listings, below. When you find an opportunity to share your time and talent with the Epiphany Community, please fill out the combined Stewardship of Time and Talent form and return it to the office or drop it in the collection basket; A ministry member will be in touch to answer your questions and help you get involved.
